Celebrating two years of being a Mom.
I still cannot believe that our precious little miracle turned two this month. My Motherhood journey began on the 20th of May 2019 at 09h09 o’clock.
I recently came across this poem which I thought was so true and just too beautiful not to share.
Being a Mom means constantly rocking the messy bun, juggling your kids on the grocery run, watching the same movie three times in one day, and feeling love for another in a whole new way.
Being a Mom means learning how to do things with one hand, discovering you have a favourite diaper brand, always needing a moment alone to catch your breath, and missing your kids fiercely as soon as they’ve left.
Being a Mom means spending way too much money on tiny clothes, never having your phone handy when your child strikes a pose, being overwhelmed by all the parenting techniques around, and mothers intuition being the most effective one you’ve found.
Being a Mom means ruining date night by constantly texting the babysitter, never getting a moment alone on the ‘loo’, celebrating every time your child goes to sleep, and sitting outside their bedroom door trying not to weep.
Being a Mom means waiting for your husband to smell the diaper first, giving in to screen time which makes you feel the absolute worst, enduring a public meltdown while seriously considering fleeing and giving birth to your favourite human being.
Being a Mom means guessing what your child needs based on their whines and cries, resorting way too often to chicken nuggets and fries, realising your own Mom was the hero you had but never knew, and hoping your kids feel the same way, someday, too.
Being a Mom means embracing the humbling, beautiful, chaotic, wonderful, stressful, neurotic, frustrating, unique and enlightening things that only this important role can bring. – coffeeandcandor.com
