Epworth School

At Epworth Preparatory School, we offer boys and girls from Grades RRR to Grade 7 the perfect place to begin their journey through life and learning. We are situated on a beautiful 15-hectare, park-like campus with modern and up-to-date facilities that cater for all academic, sporting and performing arts pursuits. Our Epworth chapel is a sanctuary for child-friendly worship and is situated in the heart of the campus.

Our academic programme at Epworth starts in the Pre-Primary where we provide the boys and girls, from Grade RRR, with experiential learning that is underpinned by the soundest educational principles.

The Grade R School Readiness Programme includes numeracy, literacy and life skills. The boys and girls attend weekly computer, music, drama, library and physical education lessons, preparing them for ‘big’ school and enabling easy transition to Grade 1.

At Epworth Preparatory School, we believe that teaching children in a natural, co-educational environment prepares them for life. The natural context facilitates healthy gender interaction and creates a balanced curriculum.

Through our holistic programme, we uncover the children’s individual strengths in a nurturing environment. We offer a balanced education programme that promotes critical thinking and problem-solving, while emphasising the development of basic skills as a foundation of all learning.

Epworth has a comprehensive performing arts programme. Music and drama are part of the academic curriculum. The music programme extends from Grade RR to Grade 7 and all pupils are taught to read music and learn how to play a range of instruments, including the recorder, violin, clarinet and keyboard. In addition, they are encouraged to sing in one of the two school choirs, and instrumentalists are welcome to join one of the ensembles. The children participate in high-quality dramatic productions, and representative work from all our pupils feature in the annual art exhibition, illustrating the artistic progression from Grade RRR to Grade 7.
We believe that it is vital to expose children to a wide variety of sports at preparatory school level to enable them to explore and experience as many different activities as possible. We encourage them to discover their strengths and choices for themselves.

Please contact our marketing department to book a tour or to find out more about our Preparatory School.
