Womb World
Development of the babies sensory systems in the womb. We will look at when they develop, how they develop and why. Also at what stimulates them in the womb and in first year of life.
Systems are: auditory, vestibular, visual, gustatory( taste) olfactory (smell) and proprioception.
Infant Communication
Brief look at infant states and how to identify these through learning to read infant cues.
Postpartum Depression (PPD) and Anxiety
What is it?
What are the signs there of?
What are the risk factors?
Where to find help?
Milestones
Physical Milestones: what are they, time span and linear development.
How to stimulate these milestones.
Social and emotional milestones (same as above) this encompasses language. But because I’m an OT I will look more at communication in the first year of life through an occupational outlook. So not language development as such.
